The story of
Original Drip.
How a search for space in Dakar became a coffee brand built on ritual, provenance, and intentional living.
A search
for space.
Original Drip began with a simple need: a place to work. What was meant to be an office became a gathering space. Friends stayed longer. Coffee was shared. The atmosphere mattered.
Over time, coffee shifted from something you drink to something you experience. It became a daily ritual of pause, attention, and care. That shift became the foundation of the brand.
The four
pillars.
Four ideas we keep returning to — whether we're roasting, designing a room, or welcoming someone through the door.
Origin
African coffee, traceable relationships, and respect for where things come from.
Ritual
Coffee as a daily practice of slowing down and paying attention.
Objects
Handmade ceramics, textiles, and furniture chosen with care.
Hospitality
Spaces designed for conversation, ease, and belonging.
Coffee as a
relationship.
Through Smayah, Original Drip sources specialty-grade coffee directly from women farmers in Rwanda. This isn't a marketing story — it's the operating reality. Traceability, quality (87+), and fair partnership are non-negotiable.
Coffee gave the brand a way to think differently about pace, quality, and what people carry with them after they leave.
“What was meant to be an office became a place to gather. What was meant to be practical became something more intentional.”
